The A.A.N.F. Citizen Initiative Program is intended to link permanent residents directly to the information and services they need to successfully pursue citizenship.
The program offers learning about-

2. Dictation sentences
3. Getting through the naturalization interview
Facts
1. Illinois is the fifth largest immigrant receiving state in the U.S., with approximately 20% of their population either foreign-born or children of immigrants.
2. Of the 1.6 million immigrants in Illinois, only 600,000 (less that 40%) are currently U.S. Citizens. Another 348,000 of them are currently eligible to become citizens, and another 142,000 will become eligible to become citizens shortly.
Outreach
1. To spread the word about the importance and advantages of becoming a citizen.
2. To encourage people to start the naturalization process .
3. To encourage voting during the upcoming National election.

Free Citizenship Preparation Classes @ Skokie Public Library
Offered by the Alliance for Lifelong Learning, Oakton Community College. The class meets for 10 weeks @ the Skokie Public Library.
