Juliet Vartan Alvagi has been putting her efforts to work for the betterment of the Assyrian community since 1986 beginning as an active member of the Assyrian American Civic Club of Turlock. She has been part of the Assyrian American National Federation as Assistant to President and currently as Chairperson of Ways & Means Committee. Taking action as a part of the AANF she has currently established ESL classes consisting of 120 students. These classes consist of computer training, citizenship preparation and exercise. Juliet has also teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to develop plans in aiding the Assyrian low-income families become homeowners. Juliet Vartan Alvagi’s line of work was in accounting until she found her passion in helping others including refugees in her current job with AspiraNet. Through AspiraNet, she is also working with Alliance work net where she helps her own Assyrian people find jobs and begin careers.
